Boarding School Survivors Experience in Repatriations-Breaking the Silence

April 11 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Yufna Soldier Wolf was born and raised on the Wind River Reservation in central Wyoming and is a citizen of the Northern Arapaho Tribe. Her parents were both boarding school survivors. Her grandparents were the first generations to be removed and sent to the first boarding school in the nation, The Carlisle Indian Industrial School. Yufna has done extensive research into her genealogy and the history of the Arapaho people. She will address the experience of healing and going forward as tribal people.

Yufna Soldier Wolf’s Arapaho name means Mother Nature’s Child. Her heart and passion is for preservation of tribal ways and customs, which includes protecting the land and her ancestors. Yufna has received various degrees, accolades, and certificates from Montana State University, the University of Wyoming.  She recently completed her Indigenous People’s Law Degree Program from Norman, Oklahoma. Formerly, she served as the Northern Arapaho’s tribal historic preservation officer. Her passion is for the preservation of tribal ways and customs, including protecting the land and her ancestors.
