A Landscape of Vice: Montana’s Red-Light Districts. Crystal Alegria examines historic red-light districts across Montana to better understand these complex centers of vice and the women who were, for a time, able to navigate that complexity to prosper in these commercialized centers. She will use the Billings red-light district as one case study.
Crystal Alegria is Director of The Extreme History Project, a nonprofit that makes history relevant. She has worked in the field of public history and archaeology education for last twenty years at a variety of museums and heritage organizations.
