Crow oral and cultural historian Lawrence Flat Lip will present a lecture entitled "Apsaalooke Oral History" on Thursday, May 30 at 7:00 PM at the Billings Deaconess Clinic Conference Center, 2800 10th Avenue North. Admission is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
Flat Lip served for over 22 years on the Crow (Apsaalooke)
Cultural Committee. He is a noted expert on Crow oral traditions and has received
grants to perform research at the Smithsonian Institute and the Library of Congress.
Flat Lip's lecture coincides with a yearlong exhibit and educational programming
at the Western Heritage Center, Life by Comparison: The Stories of Frederick
and Parmly Billings.
