"Billings' Formative Years"

Carroll Van West, Ph.D., professor of History at Middle Tennessee State University, will present a lecture entitled "Billings' Formative Years" on Thursday, May 9 at 7:00 PM at the Billings Deaconess Clinic Conference Center, 2800 10th Avenue North. Admission is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
Dr. Van West has produced several publications that relate
to Montana and Northern Plains history. He is the author of Capitalism on the
Frontier: Transformation of Billings and the Yellowstone Valley in the 19th
Century, Images of Billings: A Photographic History and A Traveler's Companion
to Montana History. Van West's lecture coincides with a year-long exhibit and
educational programming at the Western Heritage Center, Life by Comparison:
The Stories of Frederick and Parmly Billings.
